VEHICLE Care TIPS

At Comak Auto Repair, we want our customers to be in the know about how to properly care for their vehicle.  We want you to understand why and how your tires wear; how to get the best fuel mileage; and overall how to get the most out of your vehicle.  We hope these helpful tips will help you improve your fuel mileage, reduce tire wear and prolong the life of your vehicle for as long as possible.

Vehicle Maintenance & Care

  • Change your fluids on time, every time!
  • Change your oil every 5000 kms for regular oil, 8000 kms for synthetic oil.
  • Change antifreeze fluid, brake fluid, transmission fluid every 50,000 kms.
  • Schedule a maintenance check every 15,000 kms.
  • Replace your air filter every 12 months or as needed.
  • Replace your fuel filter every 2 years (if applicable).

Tire Maintenance & Care

  • Rotate your tires every 10,000 kms or every 6 months.
  • Check your tire pressures approximately once a week.  Low tire pressures can affect fuel economy, handling and comfort.  To accurately measure your tire pressure, check tires when they are cold or at least three hours after driving.
  • Check your spare tire each month and keep it properly inflated so it is ready to go when you need it most.

Fuel Mileage Tips

  • Check and/or change your fuel filter every six months to improve fuel economy and keep your engine running smoothly
  • Don't top off!  Don't bother topping off when filling your vehicle's gas tank.  Any additional fuel is just going to slop around or seep out.
  • Tighten that fuel cap.  Fuel will evaporate from your vehicle's tank if it has an escape.
  • Use the right oil.  You can improve your vehicle's fuel mileage by 1 to 2 percent by using the manufacturer's recommended grade of motor oil.

  • AND MOST IMPORTANT...ALWAYS CHECK FOR POTENTIAL PROBLEMS BEFORE THEY HAPPEN.

Top notch service is our main auto-motive!
